I would rather hear your take on the new “Prince Caspian?”
What a great way to save on gas by having the dog pull the car.
I'm so thinking of that scene in Vacation where Chevy Chase is pulled over by the motorcycle policeman for tying Aunt Edna's dog to the bumper.
Gunny, I thought of that same hilarious scene. So which one was greater? The original “Vacation” or “Christmas Vacation” They are both annuals at the Woodward Manor.
FF, GREAT question ... and tough one at that. This age old debate could be the topic of a series of posts, but I'll take a stab ...Thing of the great images:Aunt Edna strapped to the roof of the Queen Family Truckster in a hefty bag during a rainstorm vs. Cousin Eddie emptying the RV's septic tank down the drain in his bathroom and matching hat.Think of the siblings: Anthony Michael Hall vs. Juliette Lewis. The heathen would chime in that you also had Christie Brinkley in the red Ferrari vs. Julia Louis-Dryfuss as supplemental females, but us Christian types wouldn't notice such.I guess I'd have to give the edge to the original Vacation, since I find it more quotable on a daily basis and being from St. Louis I could SO RELATE to the Griswold family experience of getting lost there. I never had "Honkey Lips" written on green walls, but there were definitely times while driving through a part of America not everybody gets to see I would have to say, "Roll 'em up!"Still, I so miss White Castle and love getting back to St. Lou for some Cardinals, White Castles, and perhaps some Ted Drewes frozen custard.
OK, I'm in. "Vacation" and "Christmas Vacation" are definitely the only 2 good movies of the franchise. I agree with Gunny that Eddie emptying the *a-hem* holding tank into the sewer while proclaiming, "Merry CHristmas, the *******'s full!" is a classic movie moment. However, I think that Clark Griswold punching Marty Moose in the nose, and then holding John Candy captive with a BB gun, forcing him to ride the rides, makes "Vacation" all the funnier. Only my opinion...
I don't watch such wordly and degraded films as you guys are referencing...shame on you all!
Ah, yes. sorry. Let's bring the debate up a little.Which is a better "film", Dumb and Dumber or My Cousin Vinny??;)
Who's calling me dumb? I do have a cousin Vinny..how'd you know?
Hard to beat that John Candy cameo in Vacation."Sorry, folks. Park's closed. Moose out front should've told ya."My Cousin Vinny smokes Dumb & Dumber big time.Oh so quotable.
Oh, have no doubt, My Cousin Vinny is by far the better movie. I defy anyone to find a better southern judge than Fred Gwynn. awesome!
