Hey, I've got a 45 semi-automatic if you want to give it a try! Only on one condition though...that I get to be the shooter! :-)
I'm getting some ideas for the next time Paden and I are together...
Wow! I couldn't help watching that more than once. What is the Peruvian private model he talked about at the beginning? Is that something our Peruvian Predator wears as he plays stellar defense?
You've gotta be freaking kidding me! HA HA HA! Where can I get one of those so I can start having people shoot me with a variety of guns? I have a Smith and Wesson .500 I wonder if this little vest will stop it. You and Nathan can shoot me at the same time with your bows and we can make a really cool web video out of it to show the masses. I have never in my life seen such a disregard for safety. The guy was just shooting the .44 into the air. I laughed my rear off even though I threw up in my own mouth after watching this. HA HA - Ridiculousity Rating = 8/10.
I am also particulary blessed to know that a rifle bullet will not knock me down, but it's my reaction to being shot, similar to being stuck in the butt with a pen, that knocks me down. That's a handy little piece of information there. I will keep that in mind and stay standing the next time I get shot with a rifle bullet.
hooHard to imagine how dumb? I would say, these nuts would have to rate as true militant rednecks.
Roger- No way man. No deal.Jeremy- I know you guys...you might try this. DON'T!Shan- That was a hilarious reference, I hope Tomi watches this.Chris- Exactly my thoughts and reaction! The guy with the bun-huggin shorts cracks me up the most- "these vests are normally $300 but we'll give you a discount on this one"....ha ha!Malcolm- you are right, what important information to know that a rifle shot won't knock you down. Sure, but it will utterly shatter bone and shred internal organs...but dang, it's good to know the shot won't knock you down.
I am going to call BS (Barbara Streisand) for two reasons, 1) Maybe the force of the bullet does not knock one down (think of when a deer is shot) but that is because it is zipping through the body at great speed. When the bullet is stopped that energy has to go somewhere it does not just stop it will project the object hit forward to some degree. Think of Newton's first law of motion. If the bullet, especially a .308, was stopped that suddenly and that close it probably would knock the object down or at least back. 2) As far a someone shooting themselves in the chest with a .44 magnum, even if the vest stopped the bullet from penetrating the body it would still leave a massive bruise on the person (the same with the .308). I have seen vests stop bullets but still pop the lung of the wearer. Once again the force has to go somewhere. It does not just stop. My guess is that they are using blanks. I have been told that there is not wearable body armor out there that will stop a .308. But it makes for a shocking video. p.s. a person can load a round with a lot of power but no bullet and it will tear a hole in the cloth cover of the vest. There is a circuit of cowboy shooters that shoot balloons from horse back with .45 long colts and they use blanks. There is not a bullet but the force pops a balloon at distances of up to 10 yards.
Just don't tell the deer the secret about the bullet not knocking you down. ;-)Wouldn't that hurt your wrists, firing a .44 into your own belly?
