Benny Hinn or Benny Hill?

Rick Calohan said...

I am going to say Benny Hill reincarnated, Benny Hinn’s theology is based largely on that of the Word-Faith movement, with a heavy emphasis on the so-called "Prosperity Gospel.” His teachings, behavior, and practices have made him controversial among Christians and non-Christians alike.

Benny Hinn is controversial for the following reasons:

• his frequently aberrant - and at times heretical - theology,
• his false prophecies,
• his unorthodox behavior,
• his financial practices,
• his false claims, and
• his foolish statements.

Praise God that at Redeemer that you (Tony), Nathan, and Brian preach the Word of God and not mock the Holy Spirit with such shenanigans.

As 2 Timothy 4: 1-5 reminds us.

Preach the Word

2 Timothy 4:1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 5 As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

At Redeemer Presbyterian Church, that takes place on any given Sunday, even during football season.

That is hillarious! The only thing it's missing is that little old guy that Benny Hill used to smack on the head all the time!

Don’t be so critical of Hinn! I have been to Chiefs games where I participated in this same sort of group exercise. Hinn seems to be leading a well orchestrated version of a “Spiritual Wave”!

I know it's "funny", however too many people are getting duped by guys like this. Notice I didn't classify it as "funny" but rather under my new category- "False Teachers".

Speaking of duped... sadly, my mother gives to this ministry monthly and the fact that he nets $75+ million a year doesn't seem to bother her. This man is an abomination. I'm from Tulsa so I've seen the Benny Hinn convention hit my neighborhood dozens of times. I'm still to this day absolutely shocked at how people can claim he is a holy man, but I'm even more shocked at how he pulls the "I'm under the anointing so what ever is coming out of my mouth is from God" card and people buy it. Truly sad. One day Benny Hinn will have to answer for the pain he has caused so many of God's sick and poor children.
