Inexplicably interesting words VI

Here's another installment of "inexplicably interesting words."

I am not claiming this post to be very significant or even worth reading, so feel free to stop reading and "click on" somewhere else. You'll never get back the 15-25 seconds it takes you to read and think about this. There are several English words that I find intriguing . I always enjoy seeing how, when, and why they are used. Here are a few of those:

Centrifugal- moving or directed outward from the center; tending or directed away from centralization.

Diva-A celebrated female singer. The Italian term is used to describe a woman of rare, outstanding talent in the world of opera, and by extension in theatre and popular music. Has morphed to further denote a person who considers herself (or by extension himself) much more important than others, has high expectations of others and becomes angry when their standards or demands are not met.

Snub-To ignore or behave coldly toward; slight. To dismiss, turn down, or frustrate the expectations of.

Betwixt- Must be used with "between" as in "Betwixt and Between". In this format, it means an intermediate position; neither wholly one thing nor another.

Community Organizer- Sort of like a mayor, only without responsibilities.

I also like Rush Limbaugh's answer for what a Community Organizer does: "Think Al Sharpton."

From a previous blog I think you need add "estrous", especially when applied to urine, to your list of words
