Is there a better candy?

I ask you- is there a better candy than peanut butter M&M's?

Sure, there are plenty of awesome candies out there, but the ones combining chocolate and peanut butter are the most delectable.

Reese's Pieces were a genuine attempt to provide a bite-sized, candy-coated chocolate-peanut butter combo (introduced in 1978), however, they are a touch chocolate deficient and the peanut butter tastes a tad different from the wonderful stuff Reese's uses in their peanut butter cups. ET may have been addicted to Reese's Pieces, but not me.

M&M's are in a chocolate league of their own so I can understand Mars being careful to not tinker with the "M&M" brand name too much. Thankfully, however, in 1990 Mars expanded their standard "M&M" shells and pumped them with delicious peanut butter. We all owe them a great debt of gratitude!

So, as I eat a carefully portioned allotment of peanut butter M&M's I ask- is there a better candy?

I'm a big PB & chocolate fan, but, for M&Ms, I prefer the dark chocolate.

My favorite PB & Chocolate combo is either the classic peanut butter cup, or a butterfinger.

Actually, there is! Dark chocolate almond M&M's.

Jeff- I don't think Butterfingers have peanutbutter..maybe in trace amounts. Different class of candy dude.

Lyle- Dark Chocolate anythings are girly.

Oh no you di-in't! Dark chocolate girly? That stuff will increase your facial hair density by the bite.

Tell me this, have you ever seen a health warning on the packaging of a milk chocolate product? The idea is laughable. Millions of us take our very lives in our hands for a chance at the masculine glory provided by a single bite of that purest, darkest, most bitter fruit of the South American tropics.

And you, reverend sir, would sate your palate with the spurious offspring of a syncretistic union between that hallowed dark chocolate and milk? Fie!

Although, I must confess, those seasonal Reese's cups (Christmas, Valentines, Easter, Halloween) are deeelicious. But they'd be better with a healthy dose of manly dark chocolate.

Well argued Zach...I just hope you and Lyle don't trip on your skirts fighting over a "dainty" package of dark chocolate M&M's, but to each his own.

nope tony ... but, you're close. there is no topping the original peanut m&m ... no peanut butter, no goofy colors or holiday marketing gimmicks. just gimme a couple of those regular yellow 1 pound bags of goodness and i am a happy man. :-)

Hard to argue with you too much Ray. Peanut M&M's are in the upper echelon of candies, no doubt.

But dude- if you eat two pounds of chocolate and peanuts....OUCH (use your imagination). :)

You are right on. Peanutbutter M&M's are the best. I had to quit buying them. Living alone and having a big bag of PB M&M's in house is not a good combo.

Yeah, definitely the peanut M&Ms post Blue era.

I think candy and sweets is the only bad habit I don’t have to deal with.

The candy coating on the PB M&M is just a marketing ploy to get kids (or Tonys) to buy them cause they are colored. Un-needed. Frozen Reese's PB cups are the real thing.
