The Yanks clinched the AL East title today.

For the 14th time in the last 15 years, the road to the World Series will go through New York.

Not to be premature but I think I foresee a Yankees-Cardinals match up! With the Yanks with homefield advantage in the AL playoffs and with the AL with home field advantage in the World Series.

The Yanks are 55-23 at home a .705%The Cards are 46-32 at home .589%

On the road the Yanks are 45-33 .576%
The Cards are 44-34 with a 564%

If the Cards were in the AL East they would be 10 games back.

Clearly the advantage is with the Yankees, and with sports revenues being what they are, not saying its fixed but I see it going either in sweep for the Yanks or in seven for the Yanks. After all the last time the Yanks won the World Series a Democrat was in the White House they beat that other NY team the Mets. This is the chance for the Yanks to avenge the 1964 World Series. The two teams have met on five ocassions with St. Louis hold a 3-2 lead.

If not Yanks-Cards my second favorate pick would be Yanks-Dodgers and that will go seven and the Yanks will advenge the 1981 World Series. The two teams have met 11 times in the World Series with the Yanks hold a 9-2 lead.

As much as I love Joe Torre, I will still have to go for the Yanks!
