All I could think about, watching this clip, was your powerful pain-filled illustration from yesterdays sermon. The yardstick sounding SNAP of your succor team-mates leg brought more than just a few groans from the sympathetic listening congregation.
In small group this week, I will note your point this way: “Three reactions to the sin of one who has broken Spiritual bones.”
1. Ignore it
2. Minimize it, say it doesn’t hurt
3. Cut it off and get rid of it
4. Work to restore the brokenness; the process of restoration will be slow and painful, demanding prayerful patience, wisdom, humility, empathy and caution.
