Calvin QUOTATION

I can't resist, this is just so good-

Justification being denied to works, not in order that no good works may be done or that those which are done may be denied to be good; but only that we may not trust or glory in them, or ascribe salvation to them.

- John Calvin (The Institutes of the Christian Religion:Book 3, Section 1)

And they call Calvin the Pope of Geneva, yet it sounds to me like he understood Romans 1:17 pretty well for an attorney who obviously was versed in law, and as a theologian who actually studied God’s Word.

Would to the Lord that I always remember, worship always proceeds service, and all for His glory.. never for recognition.

To be pedantic, but it is a "Calvin Quotation," not a "Calvin Quote."
