Pray for Japan

I'm sure you have seen the news of the Tsunami that struck Japan earlier today. Join me in praying for the Japanese people and the Church in that land during the difficult days that will come.

I just read the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said the 2:46 p.m. quake was a magnitude 8.9, which is the biggest earthquake to hit Japan since officials began keeping records in the late 1800s. Apparently it was the fifth largest earthquake in the last 100 years.

This is indeed a tragedy beyond comprehension. In horror I watched footage of thousands of cars being washed away like Tonka toys in a play pool. “Lord Jesus, You are sovereign, use this tragedy to bring glory to Your Name!”
I know there will be plenty of talk within the Word of Faith, Zionist movement, “This is it! This is prophecy being fulfilled before our very eyes! Anti-Christ will appear in 3 ½ years from today, Armageddon will soon be a reality!” At one time I would have adamantly agreed. And Maybe this is a taste of God’s wrath pouring out over sinful mankind? And I am sure of God’s wrath. But we must be careful not to put God in a box, pound on a bible, a make ridiculous false predictions about His second coming! He will come again, and I will be ready, that’s the importance of eschatology for me.

Interesting timing, this weekend, starting today, the other gospel, according to “Rev” John Haggee and his World Wide Ministry, is holding a prophecy conference in Branson, so you can bet speculations and predictions will be tsunamis of prophetic utterances tossed around with a lot of shout1’en! Believe it or not, I checked it out and this event is sold out! I didn’t put my name on a waiting list.
