Contemporvant Worship

I posted this a while ago, but it's worth putting up again...

It makes me really appreciate historic Christian liturgy.

This is what you do at Redeemer huh? I'm going to bring the session of Redeemer up on charges!!!

In all actuality, would you say this is what many newer KC churches look like or want to be?

Andrew, I think only a handful of churches can pull this particular "model" off. I think the biggest "evangelical" (a term I am just about to utterly abandon-it means nothing in particular any longer) in town basically follow this kind of model. It makes a bunch of smaller churches wanna be like them and when this is done badly, it's REAL bad.

Contempo%@#$! Worship who? What's the message? We're keeping track, sounds like brother is watching. It's sad that many fall for this "make me feel good religion". Norma

We are headed out tomorrow, driving to Lynchburg VA to visit our son and his family for a weeks vacation. We will be worshiping at their VERY Contemporary church for Easter services. Hate to admit but the one time we worshiped with them, the words of their LOUD music was just about a meaningless. But the pastor in blue jeans and a tee shirt did preach the Word! Just too contemporary for me and Cheri. But the Word will not return void, even in the midst of the loud banging “music?”

Woody,

You should make it a priority for your family to attend a church that preaches the Bible.
